Happy 4th!

So I typed up an entire post, and then the internet shut down.

I'm going to make this short and sweet.
We hit the road and made a pit stop in Portland to visit Alexis and Anis. Drank delicious beer and hung out in SE Portland, which is a wonderful place to be.

This picture represents picture one from On the Road with Oatmeal. It is going to be the next big thing in children's literature.

After Portland we made it down to Beverly Beach State Park to camp on the Oregon Coast. We were two minutes from the beach and it was wonderful to wake up and walk along the ocean.

We arrived at the winery in Southern Mendocino county on the 3rd. We drove up a dirt, pot holed road, and were greeted at the gate by two small terrier mixes attempting to attack our tires. We spent the afternoon chatting with Eric, the owner of the vineyard who talked to us about all things from Bob Dylan to lettuce seeds. We spent the day reading and napping, while Eric spent six hours cleaning the kitchen (literally). We met Becky and Abby, the two other WWOOFers and Holly, the wife of Eric, that evening. We spent the evening in the kitchen, cooking and trying to follow the scattered conversation of Eric and Holly as they bounced around the kitchen. They are an eccentric couple to say the least. They live up on a hill overlooking the valley, which is beautiful.

This isn't the most eloquent piece of writing, but it gets the job done. I will update more later.
love you all!
